Frequently Asked Questions

We highly recommend enrolling your puppy in one of our tailored training programs between 10-12 weeks of age. This is a critical socialization window. These vital developmental weeks shape their future behavior. By starting training classes and private sessions while your puppy is still impressionable, we can build a strong foundation of confidence, obedience, and social skills that will benefit them throughout life.

Carefully supervised interaction with other puppies, dogs, humans and objects is an important part of our socialization process. Whether in a group class, private lessons, or a board and train program, our trainers monitor all interactions closely to model and reward positive behaviors while preventing negative experiences. Group sizes and pairings are carefully considered based on age, size, energy level, and temperament to ensure safety and suitability. These early socialization experiences help avoid future reactivity and behavioral issues by acclimating puppies to being comfortable around others.

We strategically utilize treats during our puppy training. Treats can effectively reinforce puppies when applied correctly as a motivator and reward for desired behaviors. However, treats are not our primary source of reward. We encourage puppy owners to use verbal and physical praise. Our trainers help dog owners understand proper treat timing and create a plan to transition away from food rewards as their puppy matures. This ensures treats do not become a crutch or expectation in the long term.

Our proven housebreaking techniques establish a structured potty schedule catered to each puppy’s needs. This ensures ample outdoor break opportunities to set them up for success in their potty training. Accidents inside are minimized through close supervision, unsupervised confinement, and immediately rewarding desired potty habits outside with praise and treats. We also clearly communicate our potty training methods with pet parents so housebreaking excellence can continue seamlessly at home. This creates reliable habits as part of the dog training process.

We create a positive, rewarding environment tailored to each puppy’s needs. Training levels and expectations are continually adapted based on comprehension, engagement, and temperament to avoid stress or frustration by your puppy. Our skilled trainers can identify when puppies need more guidance, a calmer approach, or a break. Keeping puppies motivated and building their confidence through training is our top priority for short-term and long-term success. This dedication leads to less anxiety, puppy biting, and better retention rates than coercion or corrections methods. Ultimately, our training results in well-adjusted, happy puppies and puppy parents.
